Kids Summer Library Activities
Let Live Borders Libraries help beat summer holiday boredom with some fantastic, fun activities! All sessions are free unless otherwise stated. Donations are always welcome and appreciated – this allows us to continue providing much loved activities for everyone in local communities.
SUMMER READING CHALLENGE
Join the Summer Reading Challenge and keep kids reading all summer long. All you need to do is read books to earn rewards, certificates and prizes. Our main challenge is suitable for ages 5 upwards. There is also a mini challenge for our younger borrowers, up to age 4. What are you waiting for – head to your nearest library, sign up and get reading!
SUMMER BOOKBUG
We have regular sessions at many of our venues throughout July & August. We are also excited to share that Bookbug is going on tour with summer specials at Floors Castle. Head to our dedicated Bookbug page for all the info.
LEGO & DUPLO FUN
Let imaginations go wild with our popular building sessions at Hawick, Galashiels & Eyemouth. Just check below for days and times!

The following libraries below have some fantastic activities on offer - These are all free* and there is no need to book - just come along and enjoy!
Under 8 years do need to be accompanied by an adult at our events and activities.

Story & Craft Session - Every Tuesday 10:30 - Suitable for under 8's
Duplo - Every Monday 10:30-11:15
Every Saturday 10:30-12:15
HAWICK LIBRARY
Drop In 'Help Yourself Craft Box' - During library opening hours our craft box is open for children's drop in crafty time. Drop in anytime and get creative!
Duplo Session - Friday 7 August 10am - Suitable for under 8's
Lego Session - Friday 7 August 2pm - Ages 5+
EYEMOUTH LIBRARY
Lego Session - Every 2nd & 4th Friday of each month - Drop in anytime between 2pm & 4pm - Ages 5+
